The oil filter is located right above the exhaust pipe for my 5.2L and when you loosen it, the oil will hit the pipe and splash all over the place. To avoid this, you can use a small plastic bag and cover the filter while loosening the filter. Let the oil drain out into the bag, and carefully handle the slippery filter with the bag, keeping in mind that there are still some left over oil in the filter. I also put newspapers below the oil catch pan.

I can relate. I hate jacking up cars and love the fact that I can just slide right under my jeep without needing to do anything to get it up in the air.

I don't know nori, I kinda like the little trail of blue smoke that trails me right after I change my oil and it gets all over my exhaust. I like to think of it as my own personal smoke screen.

hahaha

hey.. better than splashing it onto my face and having to run back to bathroom and wash it off... lol all the oil change write ups always show the pretty side of the oil drain, but never from the oil filter.. lol
