So, I'm kind of a newbie and I"m trying to do a 1" body lift. Following the instructions that came with the kit, as well as write-ups online, when I go to jack up the driver's side of the tub, the frame and all still comes with it. I've loosed the fan shroud, loosened all mount bolts, and completely removed the 5 driver's side bolts prior to jacking the tub. I'm sure it's something obvious, but I can't see what the problem is. I'm lifting my 99 Wrangler Saraha. Any suggestions?

check the mid-span steering shaft bracket and make sure you pulled the one mount below (center of) the radiator.

I had loosened the one under the radiator, but I did not pull it. I will try that. I'll locate the shaft bracket and check that also...I take it that is something that I will need to remove or loosen in order to lift the body?

How many body mounts did you loosen? There are eleven total: three on each side along the underside of the rocker panel, one on each side just in front of the gas tank, one on each side at the rear crossmember, and one centered in the front just under the grill.

I unloosened all 11. And per the instructions, I then removed the 5 along the driver's side. (3 under the crossmember and 2 at the rear).

Sorry, I meant the 3 under the rocker panel, not the crossmember.

Unloosened??? Would that be the same as tightening?

Mr. Green

Remove the front one under the grill and you should have no problem. Because it is centered, it prevent the body from lifting off the frame and pivoting on the loosened mounts on the opposite side.

Still no luck. 2 questions...Do I need to disconnect the transfer case linkage first? Some instructions say yes, others no. And, do I need to remove the metal brass colored sleeve that is below the mounts?

Are you sure that you're jacking it enough? The t-case linkage wouldn't prevent the whole tub from moving, neither would the grille mount or steering bracket. You would still be able to lift the rear with all these things still attached. I would jack it up a bit more than you're doing and I bet they'll seperate. As you're jacking the body, you're taking some weight off the frame and it will go up a little. I would unloosen the shifter linkage to prevent any tweakage.

Thank you! Yes, I just wasn't jacking it enough. Not having done this before, I became concerned when the frame was rising, and got alittle nervous.
Now I know...thanks.!

Yes, the forums here have been a big help for me. Been a lurker here for quite awhile, and have read thru alot of great tips.
BTW, the BL is done, went flawlessly, and looks and feels great! This is only Phase 1...Phase 2 will be a 2 1/4" suspension lift. Gotta have those 33 in. tires soon!
I'll try to post a couple of pics.
