ook..i have a jeep commanche, and i am wondering if the np241 t-case out of my 89 jeep w/aw4 auto trans will bolt up to the commanche's trans which is a 4spd manual...the comanche is a 1990....both jeeps have the 4.0 i6, thanks

What t-case does the MJ currently have?
241 in your 89 XJ? Did you mean 231 or 242?

sry, the 89 cherokee has a 242 t-case...the MJ doesnt have a t-case its a 2wd, i was planning on swapping the axle from the 89 cherokee into the MJ as well as the t-case i just didnt know if the t-case from the 89 cherokee (the 242) would bolt up to the MJ's 4 spd manual trans...sry if i confuse you! any help is appreciated thanks

That won't work, you will need a different tranny. The MJ tranny is a 4x2. You need a 4x4 tranny. The t-case would have nothing to bolt on to. It will work with a different transmission.

There's another option. You may be able to change the tailhousing on the 2wd to convert it to a 4wd tranny. If not, then changing the entire tranny is the only option.

u could always divorcce mount the case
