I've owned my 2006 Unlimited for about 1 1/2 years now and short of physically weighing it... I've not been able to find anyone that can tell me the weight of the HARDTOP... Not even JEEP. Does anyone have this answer?

some guy could be giving me mis-information, but he told that factory hardtop Jeeps have heaver rear springs to conpensate for the weight.
I can see the logic, but seems bogus to me.

Howdy, Gang!

My old 1995 YJ had a hard top weight listed of 265 pounds. Having tried to lift one by getting inside the top and squat lifting it, I can tell you that 265 pounds is about right. I can imagine that the Unlimited, even with the narrower glass on the side windows most liekly weighs in at at least 300 pounds, if not more.
