ok im asking a question for my budy about his YJ.

is there a certian year that a 4.0 throttle body will fit on a 2.5 ?

he is looking to get some extra power out of his 4 banger and heard about theis but asked me 2 check.

Throttle bodies from 91+ YJ's and 87+ XJ's will work.

another question. when he and i were walking around the junk yard looking at I6's trying to find one that was bigger than the one on his 2.5 but we didnt see any, all of em were acyualy smaller then his.
are there 2 different sizes for the I6?

There shouldn't be - were you looking at the outside diameter or inside diameter?

umm...

well he knows what he has under his own hood and knows how big it is, he was just visualy compareing the ones in the yard to the one on is jeep.

proably the outsite diameter because on some we didnt even bother with taing off the air intake.

also i do remember that many of the 4.0 I6's that we saw were caberated, his if EFI.

Jeep never made a 4.0L with a carburetor... A 2.5L yes, a 4.0L no. It also helps to know what year your friends YJ is.

you were looking at 4.2L's not 4.0L's

Yes but you'll need a 4.0 throttle body out of a TJ.
