Just the right combination of speed, incline, bump...whatever and my front end went into a incredible shake.....then did it again on the next bump in the road...and now I cannot recreate it.

I just purchased this vehicle and am really upset about this turn of events.

Now for the question...What could it be? 96 Grand Laredo 4.0 4WD 91K Miles.

I appreciate your input.

There are several things to check.. Control arm bushings being the first.. Then track bar .. (Make sure its tight..) then wheel bearings... ..

That should take you a little while .. Let us know what you find.

Thank you!!

Now...sure could use a link to some front end FAQ's with pics.....like something with an arrow point and saying "This is a control arm and THIS is a control arm bushing!!!"

Haha..

Actually some front end fische would work...anything like that online?

Whenever you find your picture of the front end, make sure you check your tie rod ends as well.

That is what immediately came to mind when this happened. Seems I had a similar problem a long time ago on a old F150 and it had to do with tie rod.

I dont have such a picture . But its not hard to figure out..

The parts at the knuckle (ends near the tires ) are the tire rod ends. Check those.. The part that runs on an angle from the pitman arm to the knuckle is the drag link and the one behind that that comes from a frame mounted bracket to the axle is the track bar...

Check all of those to make sure they are tight and then go to the back and check the control arms (those are the 4 things that come from the frame to the axle in the back.

Good luck..
