My TJ doesn't have an over heating problem, but on the way home the raditor exploded, and now I have a 3 inch long slit on the top plastic tank right at the base of the spout. At least it didn't get hot.

I just Looked at Quadratech, and the Raditor listed for 97-02 does not resemble what I have and is only $179. There is one that looks like mine but it a high performance unit that costs $500!

I know the engine senors ( tps, O2, ) are listed as 03' I'm thinking the raditor might be too.
Is there any differance between 02' and 03'?

Thanks for the info in advance... Wink

Yeah I did, I chated with with some guy on-line and he wanted more detalis, So I gave him my p/n and when he they called they hung up on me.
although when we chated online he mentioned an OE raditor for $99,
and I still don't know if there's a differance between 02' and 03' raditor.

http://www.radiatorbarn.com/s7.asp?ac=Y&year=2002&make=JEEP&model=WRANGLER&submodel=ALL+MODELS&engine_size=ALL+ENGINE+SIZES

$163 with free shipping and a lifetime warranty.

I see no point in spending more for a product that isn't warrantied anywhere near as long. A couple fellow Jeepers near me have replaced their radiator from Radiator Barn, never a problem.

Whatever you do, don't get an OE replacement. The plastic, crimped-on end caps will leak eventually. Or in your case, as extreme as it is, the end cap will split.

My boss had his raditor do the same thing and he went with all alum. raditor and I'd like to do the same.
I spent $180 on my alum radiator for my Nova a few years ago and it works very well.

I called radiator.com and they quoted me $167. and it would ship on Tuesday, I also contacted my local Jeep dealer (wait...STEALER!) and they had one in stock for $242..

For everyones information, Jeep asked for my VIN number to determan witch one of three radiators went in my TJ.

Just an update, I baught a new all metal radiator for $152, and removed, re-installed and running in 45 min.
Whoever said the difficulty rating was a 4 of 5 is an idiot.

Pretty easy - this is for a YJ but the concepts are the same.

Putting the new radiator was very easy. All you need to do is remove the overflow bottle and the 4 bolts for the fan shroud, then upper and lower hoses, then the six bolts that mount the radiator.
The fan shroud will need to be moved around a little to get to the bottom 2 bolts, but other than that, it doesn't need to come out.

The only tools you'll need are a couple of sockets (10 and 12 mm I think...) and channel locks, OH! and your wife to leave you alone for an hour. 45min for doing the work and 15min for a beer or two...or six.
