has anyone who has a grand cherokee had the problem where the stock cd/am/fm stereo decides to quit reading disks most of the time and spits them back out at you and says ERR on the display??? ours is doing that, and it also has an amp under the back seat on the drivers side... if we need to replace the stereo how much of a pain is it to do as it has the amp and the radio controls on the back of the steering wheel???

Not too hard. Crutchfield is a great resource. Start with this.

If you call their techs, they can answer almost any question.

Your multichanger might need a rebuild/replace...

Have u got the infinity system? I wouldn't even bother trying to fix it, there's never a shortage of direct replacements on ebay for $100-$200.
That's about what you'd pay for a decent aftermarket unit, and you'd have to get that adapter for the steering controls.

first post here..
I had that issue. not sure what it was. it cost me $100 to fix at the local stereo guys. i think that it might've been mud on the laser Smile

I do love the fact that I have a '96 Limited with the volume and radio controls on the back of the steering wheel.
