Anybody know how to get that stupid alternator pully off? My repair manual just says you might have to replace it and then says the store you bought it from should swap the lod pulley to the new one for free, not much help. I can't figure out what to do with it.

Thanks

Call the parts store and see if the new one comes with a pulley, they usually do.

thanks for the replies but I don't have an impact gun and I bought the alternator on ebay Embarassed because all the junk yards around here suck. The problem is that the alternator came with a pully for a 6 "notch" pulley and my jeep uses a 7 "notch" belt. I guess I will take it to a parts store and have them switch it out.

Just take it to the corner garage and ask them to pop it off. It takes 2 seconds. You must do busines with someone that owns an air gun.

thanks, I've actually been thinking about getting one of those air compressors and tools but I'm just a poor college student.

Ask around, but most large U-towns might have a hobby shop(their tools, your labor), or talk to some of the graduates students/professors and see who they go to.
