I'm replacing the radiator on my 97 Cherokee and just discovered the lower transmission cooling line does not simply unscrew like the top one. So now I'm sitting here drinkin a beer and scratching my head about this one.

Information on the best way to deal with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

T

Wish I could help ya if I knew. Maybe it's a quick disconnect type fitting? Where you need a certain too to pop it out. Although why it would be like that on the bottom one and not top is beyond me.

just squeeze each of the little plastic tabs and gently wiggle the line out , it might take a while but it will come out

GENTLY it will break if you start reefing on it and jamming screwdrivers in there .

you can use a pair of pliers to squeeze them together if you want .

Actually if its like my 97 zj the one screw off thing is located in a slightly different spot than the other... Get under the vehicle and look... On my ZJ it was on the underside.
