Snap-On Craftsman same tool?

I test wrenches by dropping them on a hard concrete floor. If they sing, good metalurgy and tight grains. If they clunk, bad metalurgy or cracks in the metal grains, therefore paperweights. Softer metals, or not heat treated metals will clunk too. Better chance of rounding of the flats. You can use this to check for crackes in sockets too.

Most of my tools are Craftsman . I don't have a problem replacing worn or broken tools because the Sears Hardware that I bought most of them from have good service. Very Happy

But I did hear that the Snap-On tools were the best .

older craftsman tools were of better quality , the old square handle breaker bars can take a 9 foot snipe i swear .

the new craftsman stuff is cheep and is all made in china . Sad

snap on is great, however my 1/4"ratchet cost me 140$ , so for the average person just get the craftsman one for 20$ .

you buy snap on for certain things , like torque wrenches or dial indicators . you only buy snap on or mac stuff because no one else makes that specialty tool that they make .
