I just purchased a used 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has 32k miles and the 4.7L V8. I was wanting to do a little mx work on it when I pick it up and drive it back home.

I managed to find this review on two possible upgrades I could do. http://www.4x4review.com/products/drive_train/airaid.asp They say they received a nice boost in mpg which would nice for me.

Does replacing the spark plugs and coils make much a difference at 32k miles? Are there any tips or other products I should look at? I'm wanting to stay around $400-$500 for the upgrades. If you have any feedback I'd appreciate it.

CAI's (cold air intakes) are in my opinion allways good mod, more effeiency, more power and the like.

i say go for it... as far as the plugs and coils?... u could but i think the difference would b miminal...change ur oil will b a good start... run some fuel injector cleaner.

that should b a goood start.

cars are like people- the better we breathe the better we perform. Start w/a -cold air intake- k&n is good, so is Airraid- these will give you up to 10 or 15 horsepower. Also, free flowing exhaust. Try flowmaster or dynomax. This will get you around 20 horsepower. You can get both for around $500. These will also improve your milage by roughly 15 to 20%. As for the coil, and plugs- no noticable difference. Good luck!!!
