Hello All,

I just purchased a 92 Wrangler 2.5 for my 14 year old son. Father son project. Anyway, it appears the timing chain has slipped. It has 123,000 miles. Before tearing into the timing chain I performed a compression test. Compression Test results as follows from front cylinder to back. 150 psi, 115 psi, 95 psi, 150 psi. I was not able to warm the engine prior to the check but it was done with all plugs removed and the throttle wide open. Outside temp was 90 degrees. My question is should I just go ahead and rebuild the engine or fix the timing chain problem and see what other problems lurk? The 95 psi makes me think it would be best to go ahead and rebuild. Thanks for your thoughts.

Trent
