Anyone know of a factory swap upgrade I could install in my Drag YJ? It was an orig. 4cyl 5spd w/front disc. I would like to know if there is another vehicle I could do a swap over from to incrase the front rotor size. Funds are a little low right now so aftermarket is out of the question. Finding a donor vehicle would be simple as salvage yards here are loaded with them. Thanks.

hey dude, i am a ZJer and i have recently done a brake upgrade.

you need the brakes off an early WJ grand cherokee..they have 11" rotosrs and duel piston caliper breaks.

the parts you need is

1.) WJ nuckels
2.) WJ brake calipers and hangers (make shure you get the tieves style)
3.) rotors for a 1995 FORD crown vic
4.) new WJ brake pads

do that and ur all set.

should cost around $400

i did this mod, it is great! it has allready saved my life once.

o yea BTW...u should run 16" rims with these brakes becase they are so big, or many 15" steelies will work, but i dont believe 15"alloys will work because the walls r thicker.

Excellent info! I was beginning to think I was out of luck. A couple of questions though. What year WJ will work? What is the difference with the "tieves" style. Sorry, new to Jeeps so I'm a little bit of a tool right now when it comes to their lingo! Also, even though the YJ is a different body style, it all bolts right in?

the teveis style have a differnt shape brake pad as compared to the akebono pads.

look for a 1999 WJ, that one will have the teveis style.

and yes it all bolts in because they have the same front axle, Dana 30.

let me know if u have more questions.
