How capable is a Jeep Cherokee in stock form? I would just like to know to see what my XJ really can do.

I wheeled mine bone stock for 6 years before i did my first mod. You'll be surprised what they are capable of...

for some reason my friends stock Cherokee went farther then my stock Cherokee even though i have a posi . i think its because it wasn't mine so i drove way faster Very Happy

i would say they are pretty dam capable .

Do you think that its a good idea to try and clean the undercarriage or does having mud under there not really affect it too much?

It's a good idea to get the mud off. Not only will it trap moisture and lead to rust, but it gets inside bearings, brakes, seals, etc. and will cause premature failure.
