OK, so i have a 91 cherokee limited with a 5'' lift kit. the guy i got it from blocked it up another 2'' in the back, so it is currently 5'' in the front, and 7'' in the back. it already has a 2'' spacer on top of the springs in the front. can i just get a 4'' spacer or do i need to get bigger springs?

first why do you think you need to raise the front up to 7" ?what size tire are you running?

as to whether you want to put a 4" spacer up front....big no no

it would need a longer spring.

if i were you i would yank the blocks out of the back to bring it back down.

I want to run 33''s and from what I've herd that seems tough on a 5'' lift. do you agree?
what is bad about putting a 4'' spacer in?

with 5" you can 33's just need to do some fender trimming.as for the reason not to have 4" spacers up front.you run out of spring post to retain the spring.

just trim the fenders ,get rid of the rear blocks get it back to to 5" all the way around and your golden.

i agree with what badger says 100% . blocks = pure evil on a cherokee . 4" spacer thats ridiculous . i feel ghetto with a 1" spacer .

its only 1" of difference............................

i would never go above 2" .if you actually take it wheeling i can guarantee you will drop a spring.the spring post is only a few inches long maybe 6" without the bump stop.once you start adding spacers its that much less that the spring has to ride on.so the first time you flex it out you have that much less till it drops a spring.granted there are ways to keep this from happening

1 limiting strap
2 shorter shock then whats needed

these will also limit your articulation or droop on the front end.

like i said get rid of the rear blocks trim the fenders and run the 33's

uhm , just return the spacers and go buy springs .

5.5 " of lift shouldn't be achieved with spacers . this is how 5.5 " of lift is achieved http://www.tntcustoms.com/webv5/xjylinksystem.asp or design your own 3 or 4 link long arm system.

why not cut the crap out of the fenders to fit the 33" tire ? its what all the kids are doing .

just because some one with a 1-tonne ford jamms lift block under there truck doesn't mean to shove them under a cherokee .

i think a 3" spacer is a bad idea as well .

but you know its your vehicle and you can do what ever you want , just hope that it holds together going down the road and doesn't flip and hit some mini van .

if you want to be cheep then be cheep , all i can say is do it at your own risk . springs aren't that expensive , you can buy cheap ones that will be safer then lift blocks or spacers .

5" lift is a good lift for a cherokee . dont lift it to 7" just to fit a 33 , cut the fenders .

there is a difference between 3" blocks in the rear and the front.also give it some more time and your springs will sag and you will get axle wrap.then a busted drive shaft or yoke.it might not happen a month or two after installing them but after about a year the springs can't take it even more so when you use the jeep hard.

or shackles and a 2" block , or 1" block .

if you want to block it , get the tnt ubolt eliminators they lift it up the same way but you wont get wrap . http://www.tntcustoms.com/webv5/ubolteliminators.asp

or make your own , not saying to get them just giving you a option .
