how do you tell which dana 35 you have?? do you have to tear it apart just to see if you have the one with the c-clip or not??? oh and how hard is it to put 4.56 gears in them????

look at the back of the brake backing plate to see if there are 4 bolts that hold a retainer plate on if so then it is a non c clip axle, if there are no bolts then it is a c clip axle,,, also if it was made after 1991 i believe it is a c clip but dont quote me on the year

now i have the one with the c-clip. how do i re-gear it?? and what all do i need to get as in parts to re-gear???

regearing should be done by someone with the tools and knowledge and experience to do it, it takes some tolerances and patience that a common shadtree mech may not have,,, with that said, you can buy gears online at www.differentials.com

also if you want to wheel it you have to do both axles at the same time

another is, if your running stock gears, the carrier break for a 35 is 3.55, that means want gears with a lower ratio you will have to change carriers
