alright, so here is my new problem

when i go to start my jeep (93 ZJ I6) i have to wait abou 15-30 seconds before the fuel pump will kick in. i turn the key to the on position and listen carefully until i hear a thump thump thump. after that my jeep starts fine. any ideas why this could be happening and how to fix it. i dont want to replace the pump if it doesnt need it. it still works fine but it just delays starting

thanks

try swapping the relay for the fuel pump with another relay or the same type (ac or something like that ) and see what happens . go giggle around the wires going to the tank . give it a kick .

that or check the ignition switch .

fuel filter never hurts . dont ask why , its just 10$ and doesn't hurt anything .

Run a wire to the fuel pump from the battery. See if the pump starts immediately or delayed with 12v directly to it.
