i know you might think im crazy but is the zj d44 axle weaker as far as snapping shafts goes. i know the housing is weaker but i can fix that with some tube to tube trussing. and i heard you cant put a locker in the aluminum housing, is this true.
i am looking for a replacement for my d35 and would like to keep it easier. welding brackets on seems tricky but i can weld a truss easily.
could i use an aluminum d44 with a truss. and could a locker be used in it?

am i crazy?

Its def better than the 35

gonna be hard to truss a aluminum housing with steel tubes . i would make some sort of custom thick diff cover that the truss is welded to .

i suppose you could pour a jb truss onto it .

i wouldn't really bother with the truss , just put a thick diff cover on it and be done with it , something else will probably break before you bend it . and if you do go buy a new one for 300$
