I have an 86 cherokee. It still has the original shocks and theyre kind of in need of replacement. But i dont know what kind to get. I usually just drive to school in it but i want something that will hold up good. Cuz sometimes i do haul feed or go offroad in it. And i live on a road that might as well be offroad. So what would be the best suspension.

rancho is definately a good way to go, for the money Monroe shocks arent HORRIBLE, but they don't have a warranty. you could check out OME (old man emu) their shocks are quite expensive but they are extremely good.

the ranchos are a little stiffer then monroe's , the cheap monroe shocks are less but the more expensive one are on par or more then the rancho's .

you could also get 9000's or sx's rancho has remote reservoir ones as well

also pro-comp .

I was thinking about getting monroe gas-matic. Are they any good? Theyre cheap and i think they are pretty much replacements for the original shocks. I checked rancho but theyre a lot higher. Iwould rather have something cheaper if they are pretty good.

Today i bought the monroe gas matic lt. But theyre wierd. I can take and squeeze the end together with no problem. Is this normal? i dont see how they could do anything for a 3000 pound vehicle. I mean they are just so easy to move.

they don't support the weight of the vehicle , all the do is slow down the suspension movements sort of absorb the shock of it all .
