I haven't been able to pick up a manual in the 2 weeks I've owned this ZJ, but the screen keeps popping up with a message saying; *SERVICE 4WD SWITCH*

Anyone have any ideas on what it is or how to shut up the F'ing computer? Very Happy

BTW it's a 95 5.2 RH46, with stock TC.

Thanks,
Jason

I would look at the sensor on the t-case. There are two, the one at the rear on the tailshaft housing is for the speedo, don't worry about that one. The other sensor with wires going to it is the one for the 4WD. The plug may be loose or corroded. If not it may need to be replaced. I have mine unplugged because I swapped in a 231 and the 249 sensor wouldn't work. I don't receive any messages.

If you leave the sensor unplugged, does it still display the message? You'll have to unplug it while the Jeep is off, then turn the key forward. If you get the message while it's unplugged you can eliminate the sensor as the problem. If you don't get the message while it's unplugged then the sensor is bad.
