i have a 99 xj, and it has either a 2.5" or 3" lift on it (i bought with the lift), i just put on some bfg all terrains 31 x 10.50, they rub like mad. the tire and lift spec thread says i need to possibly do some trimming depending on the 2.5 or 3". what sort of trimming do i need to do to stop the rubbage? any comments are appreciated. pics would be a big help too..

It would help us too! What rims are you running? Where are you rubbing? With 2.5-3" there should be minimal rubbing.

I don't think you are going to do much about the rubbing, unless you take off all the fenders and cut them out. I run a 2" lift with 30x9.5r-15s with rims just like yours and none of the fender flares installed, and I still rub the snot out of them when I do heavy 4-wheeling with a lot of flexing, or fast speed with big whoops. I can't even disconnect the swaybars because then it's beyond tolerable. The edges are all bent to crap, to the point where they are starting to bend the body panels. Maybe some extended bumpstops would help. I keep waiting until the day I cut mine out and put on larger fenders or something, but that day just keeps getting pushed farther and farther into the future. Oh, even with cutting out the fenders, you'll probably need extended bumpstops. If I had actually gotten around to trying this, I'd advise you on what would work... but since I have been putting it off, maybe someone else on this forum has tried this remedy?....
