Off the top of my head:
- First aid kit
- 25ft. tow strap
- duct tape
- flash lights
- food (it's the tool of energy)
- spare parts, nuts, bolts
- my tool kit - BFH, all sockets, all wrenches, etc.
- zip ties
- water (for me and for my radiator, etc.)
- fluids - motor oil, gear oil, tranny fluid, tcase fluid, etc.
- misc. other stuff..
I like hearing about others, it reminds me of what I need! _________________ Just damn happy to have my Jeep back, it's been a long time! |

I try to bring a Dan, that's good for just about any fix . Right now, I just have my tool bag......one set of metric, one set of SAE sockets, ratchets, various box and open ended wrenches. screwdriver, sledge, knife, duct tape, etc. Recovery equipment (except a HiLift, quiet JC ) and I can't remember what else is behind the seat. I keep forgetting to pick up some JB weld and prolly should consider keeping some brakeline fixes with my history in that area . This is a good thread, hopefully I'll get motivated and reorganize my junk and add to it before the 22nd . _________________ Drink more Ovaltine!!! |

Pretty much any tool i have ever used to fix the jeep at some point in time goes in the jeep, and then some.
I have mostly managed to keep it to my tool bag lately but I also take brake line, oil, gear fluid, brake fluid, ect
I also take my box of bolts, and lots of spare parts.
Im normally pretty well set. |

Flashlight, a good pocket knife and don't forget a first aid kit. Not all tools but come in handy when on the trail. I also have a bunch of electrical stuff too like butt splices, fuses and various conectors. A good pair of work gloves are good too. _________________ 95 YJ, 4.0, 5 speed, 4.5 RE Lift, 33x12.5 BFG MT's, Ford 8.8, JB Conversions SYE and some neato LED lights I just put in! |

Off the top of my head...
In the XJ at all times:
Maglite
Maps (Road)
First Aid kit
Full size spare (Duh!)
Hydralic jack
Bottle Jack
Fire Extinguisher
Various tools (full socket sets, wrench sets, screwdrivers, bfh, etc.)
CB Radio
GPS
Cell Phone
Bailing Wire
Duct Tape
Straps (tow & snatch)
Various Bungie cords
Saw
Zip ties
Hatchet
Shovel
Mechanix Gloves
U-joints
Fluids (Oil, Tranny, Diff, etc.)
WD-40
PB Blaster
Wire (various gauges)
Spare light bulbs
Waterproof matches
Loaded in the Jeep for wheeling:
Cooler
Hi lift jack & off road base
Compass
Maps (TOPO)
Spare Tierod assembly
Change of clothes, including spare boots
There's more that I'm forgetting, but you get the idea....I've used almost every one of those things at one time or another on the trail. I keep the majority of this stuff under my back seat. The rest is either mounted, goes in ammo cases (that get bungied down in the back) or is otherwise straped down somewhere.
You ought to see when I go camping and wheelin'...I really need a roof rack...

I agree whole heartedly with the zip-locks. I used them to fix my diff once. Got me not only off the trail, but all the way home.
I also always bring spare ujoints, ubolts, a driveshaft if I have it handy and axle shafts. I keep my tow rig packed with all sorts of fun spare parts, and it stays in staging at the park. We've made trips back there once or twice _________________ dan is the coolest |

Well, let's see.
I have two ammo cans bolted to the fender wells (the fat SAW cans, cause I got fat fenderwells on the YJ) and a large Conitco box that takes the place of the rear seat.
Ammo Can 1 (driver's side)- Screwdrivers, wrenches (asst SAE and Metric), basic 3/4" socket set, small Hammer, pliers, vise grips, and other asorted handtools, oh, and 1 pair of work gloves.
Ammo Can 2 (Girl's Side )- Fuses (a BUNCH), wire, wire stripper, wire nuts and connectors, electrical tape, assorted bolts, nuts and screws; washers, bulbs, 50 ft of 550 cord, Tire Slime, a voltage meter, a tube of GoJo, a bunch of Zip Ties in assorted sizes (for jeep repair and makeshift handcuffs if neccesary). Also have about 10 spare lug nuts in this one.
Contico Box- Oil, Coolant, 2 Gallons of H20, 4000lb come-along, breaker bar, 92 pc Husky socket set (1/2, 3/4 1/4 SAE, Metric and Star sockets and 18 wrenches), bottle jack, Eastwing Axe, Eastwing BFH (4 lb sledge), inner tube, Spare U- bolts with nuts, C02 tank with 2 hoses (one for airing up, one for running air tools), impact set (wrench, cutoff wheel, ratchet along with air tool lubrication), about 100 ft of nylon rope, more tire slime, empty tire innertube (just in case), snatch block, 4 tow ropes, tree saver, 2 pairs of work gloves, 1 million candlepower spotlight, and a Springfield Armory survival rifle (22 hornet over/ 410 shotgun under). :o
Oh, the first aid kit too- I make these myself from my Wilderness First Aid Training. I keep a small 2 lb bag in the jeep at all times but on trips I take the big dawg 6 lb medkit. You can never ever have too many 1st aid supplies.
Permanantly mounted stuff- 2 fire extinguishers (one one each rollbar behind the fron seats) Hi Lift Jack with offroad base, Two rolls of Duct Tape, 4 way tire iron, and whatever sidearm I'm carrying that particular day.
This list is by no means complete, I'm always adding stuff when I get a good idea. _________________ But hey, WTF do I know? I kick Hippies for fun.

| You know what might be a good idea for the WE at RC? A big bag of sand for traction if it's icy. Slip a few handfull's under the wheels, that'll work. |
