I just bought a 1994 Cherokee that was involved in a minor accident. It hasn't cranked since the collision. It won't even click when hooked up to jumper cables or a 50 amp charger. Is there a collision reset button on this model, and where is it located???? HELP!!!!!

Sounds like some kind of a battery issue to me... Try simply cleaning your terminals and connecters really well with a steel-wool pad and little bit of water. ...Or poor Coke on 'em.

Try all the simple things first (incase you haven't) and go from there.

I find it strange that it won't even "click" but that could just be a poor battery connection. I personally don't know a thing about the collision reset, or if there even is one.

Anyway, I hope that helps.... Good luck.

Tim

neutral safety switch is broken . if thats not it which it is , its your cps .

the way to tell if its your neutral safety switch is to hot wire your starter , just find the positve side of the solenoid and hook up a wire with a switch to the + side of the battery turn the key to run and hit the switch , or be cheap and just put on wire pull off wire .

if its the cps it wont run if its the neutral safety switch it should start .

there is no inertia switch like a ford , and no role over switch .

there should be an ASD, (automatic shutdown relay) but it wont prevent it from cranking. check your grounds, made sure the batter didnt move in the collision and rip out any wiring or anything like that, also, check your fuses maybe one blew if something shorted out from the impact. i would recommend just investing in a cheap multimeter and start tracing power from the battery back and find where it gets interrupted.

If it is your neutral safety switch, to test it, try turning the car to run (don't try to start) then shift the car into neutral and try to start it then. I have the same problem with my car, every so often I get the same problem, no clicking, no nothing. All I have to do is shift to neutral and it fires right up, no problems.

Good Luck

also, hold the key in the start position, and slowly pull the shifter from park through all the gears, this will tell you is your switch is just misaligned or if your linkage is a bit out of whack or something, just be careful and ready if it starts in gear.
