well guys like a lot of you i am not new to 4x4in but i am new to building my own jeep or fixin a junker so the jeep i bought is a 1990 but i dont think the motor is causof the engine numbers and they dont make any sence acorrding to the chilton jeep yj book here are the numbers can anyone tell me what they mean block#"s -53008403 and body nin#-2J4FY19E3LJ500633

| If it is a 1990, it should have a 444 casting number for the block, 661 head casting number, and an aluminum valve cover..........according to ATK. |

can you tell me where these numbers are at on my engine cause the numbers i am seeing arnt even close to those and would some pics help

From what I can find on the net, the block casting number will be on the driver's side below the intake manifold and will be a number similar to this:
EF3235444
Note the last 3 numbers are 444 which is the casting number from ATK. The cylinder head casting number I quoted will also likely be the last three numbers, 661, from the complete casting number.
I wish I could tell you this from my experience, but I cannot. This info comes from my research on the net and may not be 100% correct, but I think it is close. The numbers come from two separate sources....... |
