IT will make alot of suction noise in the vehicle. But I have personally ridden in 2 Jeeps that where set up like this. I didnt find it ad at all.. Honestly . My jeep is louder than both.

Can you not run it up the side of the Windshield??

This may be a dumb question... but does rain have anything to do with the snorkel's performance? I put a K&N aftermarket filter, but chose not to stick with the factory replacement model, so that I can add a snorkel. If the rain gets in the air intake, where will it go, or does it not matter?

yah... rain getting in your air intake will pretty much never happen unless you drive down the road with your hood off and the intake container open. the only thing you need a snorkel for is if for some reason your going through water thats over your hood or if you drive in the dry desert where dirt and sand is kicked up.

Snorkels where first designed for in the out back so that the air intake would be high enough where it wouldnt suck in sand if you where driving behind another car

and as for going through water over your hood i wouldnt recommend it unless you have seeled all wiring and you have sealed all the cracks and lil holes in your engine and moved your transmission filter to a higher place assuming you drive a manuel.
