Hello All-
I joined this site like 9 months ago and decided I should get around to posting.
I am a 25 y/o SGT in the Army, who lives in Alaska. I have 2 jeeps, a 2001 TJ 4.0 5speed, and a 2007 Patriot Limited. I have very little technical car knowledge and fix it know how, but i plan on learning on my TJ!
Here are some pics of my Jeeps! I drove my Patriot from NY to AK, through Teton NP, Yellowstone NP, Banff, Jasper, and much more. As you can see I also drove it to Boston. It has been to 14 states, and 4 providences, and been on both coasts.

Beautiful country........I am jealous. One of these days I want to come up and tour the state, but up until now, I have had to be satisfied with seeing Alaska from a cruise ship.

Is it really as warm in Alaska as I keep hearing??
Al Gore told me it was mid 80's there in December...
Nice Jeeps and beautiful country.. I did a motorcycle (dual sport) tour of Alaska back in the 90's it was lots of fun and I froze my ass off.. Very very nice..

You will defiantly learn a lot working on your tj. I didn't know much besides changing oil until I got my zj. Now I can fix things I never dreamed of. I mean I was surprised when my it still ran after I put on my dinky little 2 inch lift.
That is some awesome county. When my friend got out of the navy I helped him drive back from Washington state and there was some beautiful country out there. Your drive must have been amazing.
And without trying to sound to cliche, thanks for what your doing for this county. I grew up in a military family and have lots of friends in various branches (I can't go in because of asthma ) I know its not a pick nick but you guys are pretty much my heroes. Thanks! _________________ '94 Grand 5.2L

| Yes it is, its really amazing. here are some pics from last month
Here is the forcast for where I was at for the next three days
This was the current temp at about dinner time one day
me looking nice and warm!
I was at an Arctic leadership class.. Warmest temp I saw in 14 days was about -20F and the coldest was -48F. We slep outside in arctic tents or in thermal shelters made of snow and sticks! Good Times |

Man thats cold.
I was north of Montreal snowboarding for a week in december and the coldest it got was -20ish. I forgot my goggles and had to buy some and when the woman asked me if I wanted something to cover my face I declined. Mistake! Hitting the runs doing 10-15mph made it cold fast. I had to stop just to let my face warm up on the way down. Needless to say I made a scarf out of a thin fleece blanket I had brought with me. When I got home I had a few places on my face that were brown because they weren't covered correctly.
I was lucky I was able to take a warm shower and have a fireplace in our room. I couldn't imagine sleeping in a tent, arctic or not. Thats just crazy talk. _________________ '94 Grand 5.2L
