I changed the belt on my 96 cherokee and now when I turn it over I get a squealing noise. The jeep has been sitting over winter and the belt dryrotted so I had to change it. It turns over but get this high pitched squealing noise, any help is greatly appericated. the Jeep only has 147000 miles on it.

Usually, if you install a new belt, it will need to settle a little and will need to be re-tightened after a few days. On a Cherokee, the trick is to get the belt not too loose, but also not too tight. You can have the belt humming like a guitar string, and it will still squeal.

I have had a hard time with my belt squealing, and the only thing that has worked has been to install it so that it has about 1/2" deflection on one of the longer runs of belt, and then just start tightening/loosening the belt until the squealing is no longer there when I hit the gas hard. But make sure the AC pump is running when you adjust it.

Speaking of the AC pump... make sure it hasn't seized while sitting all winter. If it has, no adjusting is going to help.
