I got to drive them when I was working for Triangle Rent-A-Car. The mileage isn't too terrible at all and the power is okay for street stuff. The weight for that size vehicle also isn't too bad, but the 4.7L doesn't seem to have the kick the old 4.0's do (maybe I'm just spoiled on 'em). In addition, it SAYS you can seat 7 comfortably, but 3 passengers had better be kids under 12 or it's a REAL tight fit. And the more people inside, the less luggage space you get. Personally, I'd rather have the larger engine. It's got a more aggressive footprint and would make that beast smoke trails and rock krawlin', so long as the paths aren't too narrow (she gots a big arse). Of course with IFS, it would be a hassle throwing a lift kit on it, but I've seen how they look with knobbies. Niiiccceeee.... |

I went shopping yesterday and looked at a couple of Commanders and Grands. The Grands are just a little tight for me, they would work, but I am not as comfortable as I am in my truck. The Commanders on the other hand have more room and would work from that respect.
However, these were rental/lease returns which had been smoked in, were beat 1/2 to death, and were filthy. I am just not sure why a dealer would put these on the lot without being detailed, but they did. They sure made my truck look pretty good.
I am not willing to buy a piece of crap. My thought was to get another Jeep in some form, but I want a decent one. Those from yesterday have pretty much taken me out of the market. I'll just use my brand X truck. |
