Which shock would be better for weekly trail use, the Rusty's Offroad Performance Shock or the ones from Rough Country... Hydro 8000 (Normal) or upgraded Nitro 9000

~~off topic~~ How long would Rusty's or Rough Country's 3" AAL systems last? I'm only looking to keep the truck lifted for 5 years...

AAL's do not last very long at all. You'd be better off with an S10 pack or full leaf kit!

the reason im asking is because they both come with 3" spring pack kits for relativly cheap... i am on a budget and these kits give me some room to play with incase I come into any problems... any other suggestions for 3" -4.5" lifts for under $600 with good shocks and spring packs would be great too

Thanks

(New kits, i want to stay away from used parts until something breaks and I dont have a choice)

I highly doubt that an AAL will hold up for 2 years....much less 5. You buy cheap, you get cheap. Spend a little more and you get better quality. The old adage applies..you get what you pay for. To get to 3" on a budget, you would be much better off going with S10 leaf springs instead of using an AAL.

As far as shocks, I run OME shocks in her TJ and Bilstein 5100's in my XJ. In the past, I've run RS5000's in the XJ, they're a good shock as well.

I have had the rusty's 4.5 lift and leaf pack, with the shocks that come from Rusty, really good ride, no sag, going on three years, and wheeling alot, id recomend it to anyone, good price good products !
