it has two more cylinders then a 4 banger and you can actually modify the engine and see results .

if you got a stocker and you just cruise around there is nothing wrong with the 4 cyl . but if you put on big tires and go mudding then you want at least a 4.0

basically it has more power and usually runs fine with a bucket of sand in it .

long story short, the first xj i "owned" me and a couple of guys got for $200.. after hitting 3-4 small tree and driving off a 10 foot cliff it ran fine.... tranny and radiator werent too good but the motor ran like it was new exp when it was overheated

My XJ sucked in alot of water and all i had to do was break down the block, suck it out and now its fine.
