They are used but they don't look like they are going to fit my 1997 tj. They came off of a 2004 the guy said. I should have checked them out a little better but now I'm just wondering if anyone knows if or how they bolt on. They don't have the same mounting points as my old factory steps.

One end goes between the body mount. Not sure how the other end is mounted.

Does anyone out there have an 04 tj? I'm wondering if there is some different mounting point from the 97 to the 04. Maybe I just need to spend some time looking for a good place to rig up a bracket?

Climb under there and hold it up. I'm sure you'll figure it out quickly.

hey, i have an 04 unlimited, but the steps i took off mine were factory. nothin like those. find out who made em and find their website, you'll likely find install pdf's there.

but i can say from lookin at those, it's plain ta see that if the one end goes in the body mount, the other end will mount up to the body as well.

meaning, they suck balls. they'll just be held up on one end by sheet metal. sure the other end will be solid, but what's the point then? ta have steps that flop on one end?

just my opinion.
you have em in front of ya, take a better look holdin them up under the jeep, i might be wrong, but the pics tell me they mount to the bottom of the tub. just the basic geometry of em.

Yea man thanks for the info. I actually bolted them up Friday night. They look good but they are pretty flimsy on the front end like you said. They are fairly crappy in that front mount because they use a little pair of bolts that aren't long enough and have a very weak mounting point it seems. I'm going to get extended bolts one day this week and see if its any better. Hey they look good though.

They will probably always be flimsy. The right way to attach them, is to the frame. Just think of the abuse the body mount will take if you use them off road. If it's just for looks, then you'll be fine!
