I'm looking to do a front to rear swap, but I'm too cheap to buy new front springs. I can get a good deal on 7" rear ZJ coils. I figure they would get me ~3.5" in the front. I'm aware that rear springs have a softer spring rate than front springs. Would this work or am I reaching?

What brand are they? Are they new or used? And what do you consider a good deal on 7" springs? I know you can get 3" front springs for around $135.99 a pair so if you're looking for just 3.5" in the front you could always make or buy a 1/2" spacer and go with the 3" front springs in the www.4wd.com catalog.

My question was "will these springs work?", not "what springs could I use to do this swap?".

I thought the rear springs on a ZJ were larger in diameter than the fronts and would not work on the front.......... My understanding of this swap was you use the fronts on the back and buy new fronts? Am I completely nuts...?

I am in the market for a Zj or WJ and need to educate myself and I have no 1st hand knowledge of either one. Help!

Front and rear are same diameter .. Just different hights. the fronts are taller...

Hence the F>R
