hello to all i'm new to this forum. just wounding if anyone has ever had this happen to them. i have a 98 wrangler and when driving down the road and you push the clutch in to change gears the back endshift to the side like you fish tailing. any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Start with your rear track bar - check both ends for dryrot or loose bolts. Next check all four rear control arms for the same things. Glance at the u-joints while under there too. A really loose joint may cause that but you should have vibes and clunks too. Lastly, check your lugnuts - stranger things have happened.

I agree with quadna71.. lugnuts must not be working properly.. good luck to that mate.. hope it work well.. anyway, im new too.. Very Happy

I have a 98 TJ with a 4 in short arm lift that had the same problem. Turned out to be worn-out control arm bushings. Just had them all replaced and it handles like new.
