ok. so i was trying to get to work the other day. my jeep started, ran for about one second and died. no ewl . would not restart. since i now had the day off, i thought i'd try a crank sensor as this seems pretty common and i had one crap out on me on a 88xj. so...that wasn't it. eventually i found out a few things. i had good spark. the injectors were firing, i was getting and holding about 50 psi fuel,if it would run on throttle body cleaner and the guages all worked. so i figured electronically the basics were good. some how i figured out if i held open the throttle just a hair, it would start, and if i held it open for mabye 30 seconds or so, it would stablize and then it would stay running after i let go of the throttle. also, if i pulled off a small vaccum line from the intake, it would also start ok.....any ideas? i was wondering if mabye a idle air control motor could cuase this...

I had a problem like this on my 1996 Chevy lumina.

Try to find the Mass air flow sensor. that was bad on mine.

it should be somewhere inbetween your intake manifold and the air cleaner box.
