242 swap drive shaft shortening question

For all those that have preformed this swap on there 5.2L GC that had to shorten the rear drive shaft, by how much did you shorten it?. I'm about to do this swap on my 96 GCL with the 5.2L and I'd like to shorten my spare shaft now to reduce the down time on my jeep.

?????????? I didnt shorten my shaft at all.. I ran the stock shafts.. In fact.. I ran the stock shafts when I put in the 231 also.. But I did have to do some work when I put the 231HD in..

Well just so ya know I had to shorten my drive shaft 1.112" otherwise the yoke would bottom out on the output shaft. The case I used was from a 97 JGC so it 1.112" longer then one from a pre 95.
