i was thinking about adding an intake snorkel but the only one i have found so far is the ARB/safari and upon further research i found that you cannot remove the passanger side door with it installed, i would really like to be able to take my doors on and off. if anybody knows of anyother snorkels or how to get around this problem please any help would be great

I think the military style snorkles on the HMMVW would be the best bet, you will have to make it yourself though. I have seen quite a few nice write ups you can search for on google etc...

You can make it so it is a normal hieght when DD and can then add an extension when wheelin'. Bingo you now have a cool/functional snorkle without the cost of ARB.

I have seen someone with an ARB snorkel that was able to remove his doors. The trick was to mount the snorkel as high as possible (there is an indententation on thesnorkel for the top door hinge) and to cut the top door hinge down slightly.

Why do you want a snorkle in the first place?

I would do the Hummer style for looks and if needed it would be there for function, but most of our area in IL wouldnt see much use, mostly for looks

I don't like the ARB snorkle or the volant, but the hummer style is friggin' sweet!

Raising the snorkel by about 4 or 5 inches barely seems worth the trouble. And I actually believe at that height/position the intake would be more vulnerable to water ingestion. When you're punching through a thick/wet mud puddle the water has a tendency to splash up on the hood. The radiator grill provides some protection and deflection of the water. But I guess if it is more for novelty/appearance run with it.

if you were to use it for function you would add the extension raising the intake to the height of the top of the windshield
