I just picked up a decent 93 cherokee to have as a budget fun toy as well as almost every day car for driving to schoo. My dadhas 97, it's really nice, and we've already lifted it 3 inches, 31" tires, and 6 off road lights. My problem is that it's too nice for and he doesn't want my driving it off road more than jsut the beach near school and the outer banks. This is where the 93 comes into play

I want to be able to fit a spare set of 31" tires I have lying around for when I go play off the pavement. my whole goal is to keep $ invested as low as possible, bc lets face it, college kids don't have much to spare. I'm wondering if it's possible to fit 31s without a lift if i just remove the fender flares and cut the fenders out a bit.
I'm also thinking about maybe just completely removing the front fenders so that I only have to worry about the cutting rear(looks don't matter to me, ruff and tuff is the way to go)

Has anyone out there cut their fenders, i could use some advice, possibly some pictures.

Another thing is i'm thinking about a cheap 2" lift i found on ebay, with spacers for the front and shackles in the rear. Does that sound alright? this is the first time i've seen shackles for a cherokee, and it's a lot cheaper than blocks or add a leaf. Like to know what some of you think.

o yeh, if anyone has any cool ideas to fix/cover up rusted out rocker pannels, I'm all ears. Thats the reason i got it so cheap!

You see those stickies at the top of the forum? They are there for a reason. There is one there called tech writeups. Inside there are links to all kinds of write ups and four just on trimming fenders.

i bought the 4.5 inch rough country lift for my 87, the add a leaf version for 456 shipped from jc whitney, im very pleased at how well it flexes, i removed my flares and cut just about the bolt holes in the fender where the flares were bolted on, thats enough for me to clear the 33s im running
