Hello,

I just installed a Rough Country budget 3" lift kit: Add-a-leaf, lift block, new front springs.

I also put new shocks on along with a Skyjacker transfer case drop kit.

My problem is: There is some kind of knocking going on on the drivers side of the transmission hump. And I can't figure it out.

What are some othe things that may be needed to do when installing one of these kits.

Thanks,
Karl

When does it knock? Acceleration/deceleration, turns? Putting it in and out of gear? Is it an auto or standard? What year?

A couple of things to check. First off, since you did a t-case drop, make sure that the bolts holding the crossmember to the frame are tight. They are notorius for stripping threads. Also, check the shifter linkages. A t-case drop changes the angles of the bracketing and shift rods.

It's possible that it's the tranny mount. Again, the t-case drop changed where forces are put on the mount...so it might be barking.

I'm assuming the kit uses the factory control arms? If so, it might be a bad bushing as the lift changed where forces are exerted on them.
