Does anyone know the easiest place to tap into the ignition on wire? I am sure they come down the steering column, but I am not sure witch on it is. Any help would be nice. Thanks

Coming down the column in a bundleshould be a very thick blue wire, from what I can see. On an older Jeep it may be easier to use an unused fuse connector on the fuse box. An example would be if your Jeep does not have power windows use the empty power window fuse spot. One side should be 12v when ignition is on. A crimp down style blade connector will usually fit in the fuse connector. If you do this make sure there is a fuse to whatever you are powering.

Thanks for the input. I will give the blue wire a try. If that doesn't work then I will look into the fuse box. My jeep has full power so I don't know if there is an empty spot. But it is easy to look and see. Any idea on what size fuse to use for a temp gauge?

Hmm, it shouldn't need much. 5 amps is probably enough. If you can't tell by the specs on the guage then you try to go as small as possible without the fuse blowing. If you want a back light too then tap into the parking light circuit for that part.
