Hi -
I've been lurking on this site off and on for awhile - so hello...formally Smile

Anyway - here's my problem- I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Anniversary Edition which has about 19,000 miles on it. I have taken it to the dealer THREE times for excessive brake dust, and very very loud brake squeaking when braking.

Does anyone out there have issues with brake dust? I wash my Jeep once a week - and the rims are absolutely covered with brake dust. Is there anything I could buy/install (i.e. brake shields) that would stop this from happening?

Secondly; anyone have problems with really loud brake squeaking? The dealer has sanded down the rotors, and now cut them. Will this help? Is there anything else I can do or just deal?

Thanks in advance
-Vanessa-

Replace the pads with ones that are of higher quality, I think ceramic pads create less dust. My rims are always covered in trail dust or mud so I wouldn't know if I have any brake dust issues. As long as my JEEP stops I'm happy!! If you replace the pads and it still squeals then replace the rotors too. Sometimes those stockies are better off in a trash can. I don't know if these are under warranty, but your better off getting your own aftermarket parts. The dealership will keep putting in the same shit parts.

Squeaky pads are cheap pads. The stock pads are dirty.

Thanks everyone - I really appreciate your responses. I didn't know what else to do - this website is great!

I will change the pads and rotors right away.

Ceramic pads hardly have any dust but they tend to squeal once in awhile. These are the type of brakes that came standard on my GMC 3500. No dust yet with 30K.
