does anyone know the cylinder head torque setting for the jeep cherokee 2.5 VM Motori diesel engine?

Probably around 75 ft. lbs. But don't take my word for it.

There aren't many of those in the USA. There's a guy in the UK that should have that info. Send him an email. Also check out the aussie Jeep website for more info. There are a few guys on there that have service manuals on disk, you might be able to get one from them. Good luck...

you usually get a diagram with the new head cap screws . you did put new head cap screws in when you reinstalled the head right ? if you didn't know , your supposed to never re-use head cap screws because when you are torquing then down you actually stretch them , and then when you reinstall them you've just double stretched them .

i don't know if you posted your vehicle spec's if you did i will try and look up the order and torque specs for you at school . unless you already got them ?

how big are the screws ? 75 lbs seems a little light for a diesel , and you need a specific order to torque them down and in stages and usually have to turn them 1/4 turn or 1/2 turn after your torque them and again in a different order then you did at the previous stage .

saying all that you can just guess and hope you don't warp everything
