You can also just bend that lip up. I thought of cutting mine but thought it would lose its strength. I have a BB with 31.10.50 with a 4" BS and it still rubs in this spot (with some hard wheeln). I thought of going back down to a 30" But decided to build a 4.5 lift instead.

They are inside your coil spring...
Here are some pics of mine with 31"x10.5x15 BFG A/T's with 80% tread left.
The bumper is trimmed a little. I just followed the angle it was going from top to bottom

@ Orange: Yes, I've taken it offroad. Not sure I've managed to test the full suspension travel, but I think I must have come quite close with some of the bigger obstacles. I don't think the tires are stuffed into the wheelwells on level ground (didn't check that particularly), but they come very close. Fortunately there is considerable room inside the wheelwells for such stuffing. Key element here is sufficient backspacing of the rims to allow the aforementioned stuffing without touching the fenders. I will snap some photos tomorrow and post here.

@ Farmer: Yes, the tires come very close to the bumper. As I said, they are half worn and I suspect that with a full tread they might touch. I will see in a month or two, when it will be time to invest in snow tires. If that happens I will take a leaf out of your book and trim the bumper.

I started a new thread, http://www.jeephorizons.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=82408#82408 with pictures of my wheels, so as not to hijack this one.
