Has anyone found a site that tell you the actual gains in horse and torque from aftermarket parts such as headers and intake?

Thank you. I'm sick of trying to find what will give me the most bang for my buck, and not being able to know how much bang I'm gonna get. Some ads will say "gains of up to 18% more horsepower". Or something like that. 18% would be cool, but the "of up to" means you could get only 1%.

most things work best with other add ons , eg header and a pipe work good with a larger throttle body and cold air intake . a cam always works good but the other two help out a lot . a computer programmer again works with those .

if you put all those on your vehicle you should see your 18% gain . no cold air intake or pipe will do that on there own in a 4.0L in a 350 gm ya it can but not in a jeep .

problem with the cold air intake is it will run like a bag of shit in the cold weather . -13 and below probably .

your most bang for your buck will to be to take the caty out and put a pipe in there . cuz that will only cost you 8$ for the pipe , or just knock the junk out with a pipe and put it back in .

headers probably around 5-10 hp and intake 3-5 hp but together they could give you more , suck more air you gotta get more air out

what have you done to your jeep so far?

So far all I've done to mine is a kinda homemade cool-air intake. When I get paid this friday I'll probably get a TB Spacer. I want to redo my exhaust but I don't want it to sound nasty. Would a high flow cat and a super 40 sound good?

it would sound better , the lack of cat will echo more , throttle body spacers usually only ad about 1-3 hp at the rear wheels on a injected jeep . cool intake , you need to separate it from the engine heat a bit though . do you notice a difference with it ? probably freer flowing?

ok so this is what i have found

high flow intake 5-10 hp with noticeable drive ability difference .

large bore throttle body 3-5 hp with exhaust mods and intake ( you would only see real gains with a high flowing aluminum head)

ignition hop up 5 hp

free flow exhaust 5-10 hp and additional 5-10 headers ( i would recommend banks )

throttle-body spacer 1-2 hp (injected) 5-8 (carb)

camshaft 10-25 hp

nitrous 75 hp-125hp with 15% drive train reduction

supercharger 45%-50% 5-8psi

aluminum cylinder head -stock with slight mods 20 hp rear wheels , up to 70 with more mods eg stroker .

personally a cam intake exhaust is all i would do . some 4.10's would also get you some more power well not more power but more gearing as long as your axles could take it .

The intake didn't change much, except a little quicker throttle response and acceleration, but my gas mileage has gone to hell. I need to get that air out of the engine with new exhaust and it should give me some more HP. Also, how would you separate it from the engine heat? I've been thinking but I can't come up with anything.

build a box for it and shield it with some heat tape , check out some designs for cold air intakes for a Cherokee and just borrow the design . you want it to be sealed from the engine and suck air from behind the headlight .

do you have any vacume leaks ? what did you do with all the lines and the pcv valve
