hey i have a 1989 cherokee 4.0L aw4....and most of my vacuum lines are missing and i dont know where they all hook up...someone sent me a diagram awhile back, but it doesnt show hardly any detail, the vacuum modulator or w/e its called that a bunch of the lines go through is whats screwing me up and i dont know what goes where, the thing im talking about is in the front of the motor its a piece of plastic that clips in and there's 2 big holes on the top and then 8 little ones below that, 4 on each side, for the lines to go through, and the only line ihave hooked up for positive is the EGR valve, i really need a diagram of some sort or even a picture of somebody's jeep that has these lines haha, any help appreciated thanks!

Welp being nobody has jumped in, what I did is simply buy a vacuum line kit from the stealership. It was sort of expensive (I think $100?) but well worth it to me...because it came with pretty much everything for the factory 4.0 Ltr. It only took a little bit of time with that kit to get everything back in order...especially on my 89 MJ. Confused I did the same kit a few years ago on the wife's XJ too.

If you are looking for drawings or something, I can't help you. Maybe you can google them? Confused

Not much help...but it's how I handled the problem you have.

Good luck
Wink

The factory service manual has logical diagrams of what connects to what....basically schematics...but nothing physical or visual.

the 89's were sorta silly . find some one with a 89 and copy it haha , that what i do when ever i have problems just go look at one of my other jeeps .

a vacuum line kit would probably be a good idea because there is a good chance there all old and brittle . and if you don't want to make them your self .

if mine wasn't ripped apart i could help you but im scrapping the old 89 design . maybe i still have the vacuum lines on i will take a picture tomorow
