Yep, tried chains and there just wasnt enough traction. Got a guy with a winch gonna help me tomorrow.

Here's some other pics from today:

This was pretty steep!

So was this:

Sure hope to get out of that mess tomorrow. I think I hit an underground stream or somthing-it just sank all of a sudden.

You can try the old chain and tire trick. Take an old tire (minus rim) and attach the tire to a pull point on the Jeep with a chain, wrapping the chain around both the tire and the pull point. Then wrap another chain around the tire and attach it to the pulling vehicle. The tire will act like a rubber band and the momentum will sling you out of the hole.

Yeah,

The winch got it out. Took a little while though, had me thinking twice. Ended up having to tie the back end of the recovery vehicle to a tree to keep it from sliding towards me.

Now, I think somthing got jacked up with the steering. It shakes pretty good now at speeds over 35mph. Gotta clean it real good and then maybe an alignment and or a beefyer Steering stablizer.

I was in the same place as you with my 93 zj. I tried to cross a beaver dam type thing that i had crossed many times before. I took it too far to the side and just sank in. 2 Hours of digging by lantern light and calling my buddy with his tj solved the problem. when he pulled me backwards my front bumper caught and pulled off but it was a easy fix. and i hade more front clearance on the way out
