oil pressure guage comes on with ignition ,& stays on with a reading of 6.
has anyone had this happen ?

are you saying the gage stays at 6 after you shut it down or that it doesn't move from when you click it to run and then start and actually run it ?

when the ignition is turned on the oil guage jumps straight to six,&
when the engine is started it stays at six.

Haven't seen this happen, but my bet would be a faulty oil pressure sensor.
