I tried to help rescue my friend's Expedition last Sunday and I managed to snap a few photos between digging and pushing. We ended up getting both his vehicles stuck and it took 15 hours and a Jeep CJ7 to finally get them out. I got stock for about an hour when I tried to pull the Blazer out. It was a mess and the snow was coming down hard.
My friend called me at 6:00AM and said that he was stuck, needed help, needed a Jeep. He got stuck at 4:00AM on his way to work. Cal-Trans had the freeway closed so he took an alternative route which didn't work out so well for him.
He got stuck in a berm created by the snow plows over head on the freeway over pass. Every time the plows would come by they would shower the vehicle with slush, snow, and rocks. He ended to loosing his windshield and almost broke some ribs from being hit by the falling snow, etc...

Although I'm in California I'm at the very North end of the state and my elevation is about 3,500 feet. It snows... In '92 we got 8 feet of snow in 36 hours. But, winters have calmed down a little since then.
Hopefully your winter isn't over yet!

i hope winter leaves very fast the 35/12.50 bfg mud terrains don't do so well on the ice , right now my off road vehicle is parked due to road conditions and of course the fact that im in the middle doing a in frame bearing job , but that should be over by tomorrow .
well snow on the lower elevation can melt , the stuff up top keep on coming down so that it can make lots of mud . |
