rear axle bearings....

anyone ever replace the rear outer seals and bearing?

i got 180k on my and its starting to wear and leak oil on my breaks

is this a good time to replace my ring and pinion gears?

It's just like any other axle job.
Pull the wheels, drums, brakes, and axle cover.
Take the carrier lock screw out, very carefully mind you.
Remove the spider gears and shaft assembly.
Pop the C-clips off the axles, and remove the spider gears.
Pull the axle shafts out.

The only time you remove or replace gears is when you're upgrading the gears, or the gears, pinion bearings, and/or carrier bearings are bad. If everything looks good, don't mess with it.
