I have a limited slip diff in my 2000 tj. I was looking at royal purple diff lube and they claim that no friction modifier is required. Is this true? has anyone tried this? would it hurt to/should I add friction modifier too to be safe?

I was asking around regarding some of the same issue. One guy told me he has been using it in his Rubicon and loves it. The dealership also has the gear oil and additive.

The premium synthetics and specialty lubes usually do not require the friction modifier, as you've noticed on the bottle. It won't hurt to add it anyway other than wasting $4 on the tube of friction modifier.

if running royal purple in the limited slip dont waste the money on the friction modifier. ive run it in a couple diffrent rearends(drag racing and offroad) and you dont need it. it will also help your limited slip work better.
